Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Viewlume – Content Analytics version 1.0.0 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Viewlume is a lightweight content analytics plugin for WordPress that records aggregate daily views for published posts and pages.

It is designed for sites that want basic content-performance reporting without storing visitor profiles, IP addresses, analytics cookies, or other individual visitor tracking data.

The plugin provides:

  • Total views across a selected date range.
  • Daily views shown in a simple views-over-time chart.
  • Top-performing published posts and pages.
  • Per-post and per-page view counts in the WordPress editor.
  • Settings for controlling administrator and logged-in-user tracking.
  • A manual option to permanently delete all recorded analytics data.
  • An option to delete Viewlume analytics data and settings when the plugin is deleted.
  • An option to drop the analytics table when the plugin is deactivated.
  • Multisite-aware analytics data cleanup.

Features

  • Track views for published WordPress posts and pages.
  • Store aggregate view totals by content and day.
  • Filter dashboard analytics by date range.
  • View total views, published post count, and published page count.
  • View top content by total views.
  • View total views and today’s views directly from the post/page editor.
  • Exclude administrators from analytics tracking.
  • Enable or disable tracking for logged-in users.
  • No IP address storage.
  • No analytics cookies are created by Viewlume.
  • No unique visitor or visitor-profile database is created.
  • Delete all analytics data manually from the plugin settings.
  • Optionally delete the analytics table when the plugin is deactivated.
  • Remove the Viewlume database table and settings during uninstall.
  • Supports WordPress multisite cleanup.

What Viewlume Does Not Track

Viewlume focuses on aggregate content views. The current version does not provide:

  • Unique visitor counts.
  • Sessions.
  • Geographic location.
  • Referrer reports.
  • Device or browser reports.
  • UTM or campaign attribution.
  • Individual visitor profiles.
  • IP address tracking.

Privacy

Viewlume is designed to store aggregate content-view statistics rather than individual visitor information.

The plugin stores:

  • The WordPress post or page ID that was viewed.
  • The date of the view.
  • The aggregate number of views for that content on that date.

The plugin does not store IP addresses, visitor names, email addresses, geographic locations, referrers, device details, or individual visitor profiles.

Site administrators can permanently delete all recorded Viewlume analytics data from Analytics > Settings. Uninstalling the plugin also removes its stored analytics table and plugin settings when the corresponding setting is enabled.

Data Storage

Viewlume creates a WordPress database table using the site database prefix followed by viewlume_views (for example, wp_viewlume_views).

The table stores daily aggregate view counts for posts and pages. No individual visitor records are created.
