Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records TransX402 Paywall version 1.0.0 as active, updated 2mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

External services
This plugin connects to external services to process payments and display admin links:
TransX402 API ( https://api.transx402.com, or an admin-configured allowlisted facilitator URL) — payment facilitation and verification. The site sends the API key (server-side only), payment signatures, and transaction hashes. No visitor API keys are exposed in the browser. Terms: https://transx402.com/terms. Privacy: https://transx402.com/privacy
Block explorers ( https://basescan.org, https://testnet-explorer.onchainfolio.com ) — used only in the WordPress admin payments list to link transaction hashes. No visitor data is sent to these services.

Privacy
Stores payment history (payer wallet address, transaction hash, post ID, amount) in your WordPress database.
Sends payment payloads and transaction hashes to the TransX402 facilitator when a visitor pays.
Sets an HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax signed access cookie (Secure when the site uses HTTPS) after a successful payment so return visits can unlock content without re-paying.
