Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records SpeedSearch version 1.8.36 as active, updated 13m ago and tested up to WordPress 7.0.

Overview

About this plugin

Give your WooCommerce store a faster way to search and filter products.

SpeedSearch moves catalogue search and filtering to a dedicated backend, reducing reliance on your WordPress database for those operations. Customers can explore suggestions as they type and narrow down products through a configurable storefront interface.

Help shoppers find what they want while reducing the search workload on your store.

Dedicated processing for product search and filtering

SpeedSearch synchronizes your catalogue with its search backend. The backend finds matching products and processes filters, while the plugin integrates the results into your WooCommerce storefront.

This separates search processing from your store’s main WordPress database. Actual performance depends on your catalogue, hosting, network connection, theme and configuration.

Autocomplete while customers type

Help shoppers discover products directly from the search field. Configure autocomplete headings, layout and selection behaviour to fit your catalogue and the way customers browse your store.

Product filters that match your catalogue

Let customers narrow their selection using:

  • Product categories.
  • Product tags.
  • Price.
  • Product attributes, such as colour, size or material.

Available attribute filters depend on how your WooCommerce products are configured.

Flexible storefront placement

Display the complete SpeedSearch interface or place individual components where you need them. Shortcodes are available for the search field, filters, categories and product results.

SpeedSearch also includes integrations for Flatsome and its UX Builder.

Ongoing catalogue synchronization

Product and taxonomy changes are synchronized with the search backend through background processing. Administrative diagnostics help you inspect synchronization status and investigate catalogue update problems.

Configure your shopping experience

Manage search and filter settings in WordPress, adjust autocomplete behaviour and configure the storefront components to suit your shop.

Service access

SpeedSearch requires a connection to the SpeedSearch backend service. Your store must be authorized and its catalogue synchronized before backend-powered search can return your products.

Service access is separate from installing the plugin. ventures. Paid plans are listed on the pricing page.

External Services

SpeedSearch backend

The plugin connects to the SpeedSearch service to authorize the store, synchronize its catalogue and settings, and process search, autocomplete and filtering requests. com; deployments can configure a different address.

Data exchanged includes product and taxonomy information, store settings, search and filter parameters, the store domain, plugin version and service authentication details. During authorization, the plugin also sends the activating administrator’s name and email address as the store contact. Background analytics delivery sends per-product view, add-to-cart and purchase counters.

These requests occur during store connection, catalogue and settings synchronization, search operations and scheduled analytics delivery. Diagnostic and settings-sharing operations also communicate with the backend when used.
