Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records SoftIcon Poll version 1.0.0 as active, updated 19h ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
SoftIcon Poll adds a Poll block to the block editor. Write the question and the answers right in the block, publish, and visitors vote. The votes stay in your own WordPress database: no sign-up, no outside service, and no data sent anywhere.
Why choose SoftIcon Poll?
Block first – the question and answers are edited in place, and the results can be previewed in the editor with your colors.
Your data stays with you – votes are saved in a table on your own site. Nothing is sent to another server.
Works with caching plugins – the page can be cached; the vote and the results come from your site’s REST API.
One vote per person – by account for logged-in visitors, otherwise by a browser cookie and a scrambled code made from the IP address. The IP address itself is never saved.
Accessible – real radio buttons and checkboxes, full keyboard use, and the results are read out to screen readers.
