Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records OzuLabs Turbo Search for WooCommerce version 1.11.26 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
Turbo Search for WooCommerce replaces WooCommerce’s default slow search with a dedicated, FULLTEXT-indexed search engine that returns results as customers type.
A Pro edition adds typo tolerance, synonyms, category/brand suggestions, ranking-weight tuning,
sales-weighted ranking, zero-result search analytics, and multi-currency price support for
com/plugins/turbo-search/.
How it works:
Builds a dedicated search index table containing only published products — title, SKU, description, and categories.
Uses native MySQL/MariaDB FULLTEXT indexing for fast, relevance-ranked results.
Rebuilds happen in the background (via Action Scheduler) so shoppers never see an empty search box.
Each product update is synced automatically — no manual rebuilds needed.
Results are cached across multiple layers (object cache → APCu → WordPress transients) so repeat queries cost nothing.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
