Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records GlobalDev Maintenance Mode version 1.0.2 as active, updated 23d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

GlobalDev Maintenance Mode gives site administrators a focused way to temporarily replace the public frontend with a professional maintenance or coming soon page.

Features include:

  • Maintenance mode with HTTP 503 and Retry-After headers.
  • Coming soon mode with HTTP 200.
  • Professional responsive maintenance page.
  • Custom logo and background image using the WordPress Media Library.
  • Structured color controls with no arbitrary CSS or JavaScript input.
  • Optional call-to-action button.
  • Optional countdown timer.
  • Scheduled start and end times.
  • Automatic disable at the configured end time.
  • Role-based bypass for logged-in users.
  • IP allowlist.
  • URL path exclusions.
  • Optional secret bypass token.
  • Preview mode for administrators.
  • Optional noindex/nofollow headers.
  • Admin-bar status indicator while the plugin is enabled.

The plugin works locally on your WordPress site and does not require an external account or remote service.

Unlike a simple on/off maintenance screen, the plugin is designed around operational safety: it can return a standards-appropriate HTTP 503 response with Retry-After, automatically close a scheduled maintenance window, and combine role, IP, path, and secret-token bypass rules so administrators and integrations can retain controlled access while the public site is unavailable.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
