Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records FactuPress – Default Customer Payment Method version 1.0.0 as active, updated 21d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
FactuPress – Default Customer Payment Method lets you fix a preferred payment gateway for each customer and reuses it in two places, saving clicks and avoiding mistakes:
Manual orders in the admin. When you pick a customer while creating or editing an order in Orders, their default payment method is preselected automatically, on both the classic and the HPOS (high-performance order storage) order screens.
Checkout. If the customer’s preferred gateway is currently available, it comes preselected for them at checkout — classic checkout and the Cart & Checkout blocks are both supported.
The default can be set from two places:
The customer’s profile ( Users → Edit User ), by any user who can edit users. This list always matches the gateways WooCommerce itself would offer on the manual order screen (active gateways only, same “Other” fallback).
My Account, by the customer themselves — only if the store owner allows it via a new setting under WooCommerce → Settings → Accounts & Privacy → Customer choice. Off by default.
Why this plugin
Stores that create a lot of orders manually from the admin (phone orders, in-person sales, B2B accounts with a fixed payment method) end up picking the same payment gateway for the same customer over and over. This plugin removes that repetitive step, and optionally lets recurring customers speed up their own checkout the same way.
Requirements
This plugin requires WooCommerce to be active. It does nothing on sites without WooCommerce, and shows an admin notice if WooCommerce is deactivated while this plugin remains active.
