Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records DevStrefa Text to Speech for ElevenLabs version 1.2.0 as active, updated 21d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

DevStrefa Text to Speech for ElevenLabs lets you generate spoken audio for WordPress posts and pages with the ElevenLabs API and show a player on the front end.

This plugin is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs is a trademark of its respective owner.

Features

  • Generate MP3 audio from post or page content using your ElevenLabs API key
  • Connect up to 3 ElevenLabs accounts. Each account has its own voice, stability, similarity, and usage statistics
  • Play your own audio file on a post or page instead of the generated MP3
  • Set the player header text for one post or page
  • Player themes: Default, Compact, and Modern
  • Live appearance preview in settings
  • Reads content from the WordPress editor (classic / Gutenberg) and Elementor
  • BeBuilder (BeTheme) layouts are detected and are not read
  • Shortcode [dseltts_audio] for manual placement
  • Character estimate in the post editor before audio is generated
  • AudioObject structured data for posts and pages that have audio

Premium add-on

A separate Premium add-on (not included in this plugin) can add extra player themes and generation options. pl/en/plugins/elevenlabs-wordpress/

External services

This plugin connects to the ElevenLabs text-to-speech API so it can turn post or page text into an MP3 audio file. It is required for generating speech. You must create your own ElevenLabs account and enter your own API key in the plugin settings.

The plugin does not create an ElevenLabs account for you and does not use a shared key.

Data is sent only when an administrator or editor generates audio (from the post editor or from plugin settings when fetching voices or usage statistics). The following data may be sent to ElevenLabs:

  • The prepared article text (and optionally the post title) when generating speech
  • Your ElevenLabs API key in the xi-api-key request header. Up to 3 accounts can be connected, and each request uses the key of the account that generates the audio or whose statistics are being loaded
  • Voice ID and voice settings (stability, similarity) when generating speech
  • No visitor browsing data is sent while someone only plays an already generated file on the site

Generated MP3 files are stored in your WordPress Media Library (uploads folder). Playback on the site uses that local file and does not call the ElevenLabs API again.
