About this plugin
Conforma Accessibility Scan adds Tools > Accessibility scan to wp-admin. 2 level AA, the web part of the European accessibility standard EN 301 549, which websites selling to consumers in the EU have to meet under the European Accessibility Act.
The scan runs on Conforma’s servers. Conforma opens your home page in a real browser at desktop and phone width and tests it with axe-core, the open-source rules engine from Deque Systems. The page then shows:
- a score out of 100
- the number of failing elements by severity
- the three worst WCAG failures, each with its success criterion and how to fix it
- a link to the full report on conformahq.com, which lists every failure with its fix
The plugin changes nothing on your public site and adds no scripts to it. It contacts Conforma only when an administrator starts a scan.
Automated testing covers about a third of the WCAG success criteria. Full conformance needs a manual review with a keyboard and a screen reader as well.
Conforma account
The scan needs no account. A free Conforma account starts with the plugin’s result and scans up to 25 pages of the site, with every issue, its fix and an accessibility statement. Paid plans scan more sites on a schedule and send an email when a score drops.
