About this plugin
ClearMakes Agents builds an assistant from your documents, your website pages and your Google Drive folders. This plugin puts that assistant on your WordPress site as a chat button in the corner.
You make the assistant, add its files and choose its colours and greeting in ClearMakes Agents. The plugin only adds it to your site: paste the assistant’s agent ID, tick the box and save.
This plugin needs a ClearMakes Agents account. The Free plan (one assistant, 30 conversations a month) is enough to start. Paid plans start at $12 a month.

What you get:
- A chat button on every page of your site.
- Answers from the files, pages and folders you gave your assistant.
- The look, greeting and suggested questions you set in ClearMakes Agents; change them there and the site follows.
- Nothing is loaded until you paste an agent ID and tick the box.
Honest limits: answers in the chat do not show their sources. On the Free plan the chat shows a small “Powered by ClearMakes” line.

This plugin connects your site’s visitors to a service run by ClearMakes. The plugin does nothing until a site administrator pastes an agent ID and ticks the box on Settings > ClearMakes Agents.

What is sent, and when:
- When a page loads, the visitor’s browser asks ClearMakes for the assistant’s look and greeting. This request carries the agent ID and the normal information any web request carries (the visitor’s IP address and browser type).
- When a visitor opens the chat and sends a message, the message text is sent to ClearMakes to be answered. ClearMakes keeps the conversation so you can read it in your ClearMakes Agents account.
- The visitor’s browser may keep the conversation in its own storage on your site for up to 24 hours, so closing and reopening the chat does not lose it.
The plugin itself stores one setting in your WordPress database (the agent ID and whether it is on) and sends nothing to ClearMakes from your server.

Because the chat sends visitors’ messages to ClearMakes, tell your visitors in your own privacy policy, and add a consent step if your local law needs one. You can switch the chat off at any time by unticking the box.
