Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Clear Floats Button version 2.0.0 as active, updated 1d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Float an image to the left or right, and the text after it wraps around the image. Sometimes the next part of your post must start below the image. A clear does that.

Block Editor: add the Clear floats block (search for “Clear floats” in the inserter). Content after the block starts below every floated block above it. You can also turn a Separator block into a Clear floats block.

When you convert a Classic block to blocks, each clear in it becomes a Clear floats block.

Classic Editor: click the Clear floats button on the toolbar, or press Ctrl + Alt + F ( Control + Option + F on macOS). The button also shows in the Classic block. Install the Classic Editor plugin if you use the Classic Editor screen.

Both editors save the same small element: <br style="clear:both;">. It needs no CSS from your theme, and your posts keep their layout if you deactivate the plugin.

Migrate from TinyMCE Clear Float

1). To move:

  • Install and activate Clear Floats Button.
  • Deactivate TinyMCE Clear Float.
  • Your posts keep their clears. When you edit a post, each clear shows as a Clear floats placeholder.
