How It Works:

This plugin connects your WordPress website to the BotDolphin service. The chatbot widget is loaded from BotDolphin servers and all customization is done through the BotDolphin dashboard.

  • Create a free account at botdolphin.com
  • Create and customize your chatbot in the dashboard
  • Install this plugin on your WordPress site
  • Enter your Chatbot ID in the plugin settings
  • Enable the chatbot – you’re done!

This plugin relies on the BotDolphin external service to provide AI chatbot functionality. The service is required for the plugin to work.

What data is sent and when:

Chatbot Configuration: Your Chatbot ID is sent to retrieve your specific chatbot settings (colors, messages, behavior).

Visitor Messages: When a visitor types a message in the chat widget, the message content is sent to BotDolphin servers to generate an AI response.

Lead Form Data: If you have lead capture enabled and a visitor submits their information, the following data may be collected based on your configuration:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Page URL: The current page URL is sent for conversation context and analytics.

Session Data: A unique session identifier is used to maintain conversation continuity.

YouTube (setup guide video, admin screen only)

  • Service Provider: YouTube / Google
  • Hosts: i.ytimg.com (preview image), www.youtube-nocookie.com (video player)

The plugin settings screen shows a setup guide video. com when an administrator opens the settings page. com only after the administrator clicks play.

This affects logged-in administrators viewing the plugin settings page only, never your website visitors.
